Overview

Mixxy ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Mixxy mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

Account and Profile Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address. You may also provide a username, neighborhood, and profile photo. Your username is permanent and cannot be changed after registration.

Activity Data

We store the actions you take within the App: activities you swipe on, like, star, or add to playbooks; playbooks you create; ratings and notes you add to activities. This data is stored on your account and is used to power your Library and personalize your Discover feed.

Analytics Data

We use PostHog to collect anonymized usage data, including which features you interact with and general usage patterns. This helps us improve the App. PostHog data does not identify you by name and is not sold to third parties.

Advertising Data

Mixxy displays ads through Google AdMob. On iOS, we ask for your permission (via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt) before accessing your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). If you grant permission, your IDFA may be used to deliver personalized ads. If you decline, ads are still shown but are not personalized. You can change this permission at any time in your device Settings under Privacy and Security.

How We Use Your Information

  • To operate and maintain your account and Library
  • To personalize your Discover feed by excluding activities you have already seen
  • To improve App features and fix bugs using aggregated analytics
  • To display advertisements that support free access to the App
  • To respond to support requests you send to us

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data to build profiles for sale to advertisers.

Third-Party Services

The App relies on the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:

  • Supabase (supabase.com) — database, authentication, and file storage. Your account data, activity data, and profile photo are stored on Supabase infrastructure.
  • PostHog (posthog.com) — product analytics. Collects anonymized usage events.
  • Google AdMob (admob.google.com) — in-app advertising. May collect your device advertising identifier with your consent, as described above.

Data Retention

We retain your account and activity data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will permanently delete your data within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot identify you.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at mixxysupport@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

Your Rights and Choices

  • Access and correction: You can view and update your profile information within the App at any time.
  • Account deletion: Email mixxysupport@gmail.com to request permanent deletion of your account and data.
  • Advertising preferences: You can withdraw consent for personalized ads in your device Settings under Privacy and Security at any time.
  • Analytics opt-out: Contact us at mixxysupport@gmail.com to opt out of analytics data collection.

Security

We use industry-standard security practices, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and row-level security policies on our database, to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
